Title IX Information
DeVry University’s (DeVry) community, guests and visitors have the right to be free from all forms of sex and gender-based harassment, discrimination and misconduct, examples of which can include acts of sexual harassment, sexual violence, intimate partner violence, stalking, and sexual exploitation. All members of the campus community are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that does not infringe on the rights of others. Sex and gender-based misconduct will not be tolerated at DeVry.
DeVry is committed to fostering an environment where any alleged violation of this policy is promptly reported and complaints are resolved in a fair and timely manner. When an allegation of misconduct is brought to an appropriate administrator’s attention, protective and other supportive measures will be used to reasonably ensure that such conduct ends, is not repeated, and the effects on the community are remedied. Anyone who believes they are a victim of sex or gender-based misconduct should report the incident as soon as possible in addition to seeking immediate medical and/or safety assistance.

Title IX Coordinator

The Title IX Coordinator will work with campus administration to identify and initiate strategies intended to remedy the effects on the victim and DeVry community to the extent possible and reasonable to prevent reoccurrence of similar misconduct. Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN)
RAINN is one the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organizations and created the National Sexual Assault Hotline. RAINN operates the hotline in partnership with more than 1,000 local sexual assault service providers across the country.
1in6’s mission is to help men who have had unwanted or abusive sexual experiences live healthier and happier lives, and to help their loved ones by providing additional support, information, and resources. 1in6 has partnered with RAINN to provide a helpline.
National Domestic Violence Hotline
The confidential and free of cost hotline is available 24/7 to callers. The National Domestic Violence Hotline provides tools and immediate support to enable victims to find safety and live lives free of abuse. The organization offers referral services in more than 200 languages.
VictimConnect Resource Center
The VictimConnect Resources Center is a referral helpline where crime victims can learn about their rights and options confidentially. The organization serves victims of crime in the United States and will refer victims to the most appropriate local or national resources based on their experience and needs.
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Loveisrespect engages, educates and empowers young people to prevent and end abusive relationships. The organization offers support, information and advocacy to young people who have questions or concerns about their dating relationships. Free and confidential phone, live chat and texting services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Investigations into violations of DeVry’s Sex and Gender-Based Response and Prevention Policy begin when the Title IX Coordinator receives notice of an alleged violation. The Title IX Coordinator will make an initial assessment and may take any of the following actions:
- If the report, if substantiated, constituted a violation of this policy, the Title IX Coordinator will determine appropriate supportive measures and initiate an investigation.
- If the report, even if substantiated, would not rise to the level of a policy violation or after consulting with the reporting party about participation in an investigation, the Title IX Coordinator may not conduct a full investigation.
- Refer the report to another office if it is determined the report is outside of the scope of the policy.

Both parties will have the opportunity to provide witnesses and submit evidence pertaining to the allegation. At the conclusion of the investigation, a report is provided to a panel to determine responsibility. If a student is found responsible for violating DeVry’s Policy, the range of sanctions that may be imposed can be found in the Student Handbook and both parties will have the opportunity to appeal the outcome.
DeVry provides the same accommodations to a pregnant/parenting student that it provides to a student with a temporary medical condition. Support is provided for pregnancy, childbirth, false pregnancy, termination of pregnancy, and recovery from these conditions. DeVry’s Title IX Coordinator will partner with the Office of Student Disability Services to implement services and support.
